But then, the liberal web is increasingly the province of children—children who live off imagined grievance, just as pseudo-conservative talkers have so relentlessly done.
From The Daily Howler commenting that John McCain did shake Barack Obama's hand after the last debate.

Personally, I didn't see it happen when I watched the debate (not that it matters). The only thing about the handshake vs no handshake scenario that bothers me, is that McCain isn't really coming off as someone who will be able to suck it up & act like an adult when it comes to dealing with someone that he may not agree with (this does not bode well for his ability to negotiate peacefully with other nations).

But he did shake hands. So the whole statement that if he didn't he can't suck it up like an adult is pointless.

Ah. Sorry. Got carried away writing my comment without clarifying what I was referring to.... Let me be more clear:

What I objected to was McCain's condesending tone that peppers these debates. It is this kind of tone that makes me wonder about his ability act like an adult in foreign policy matters.

Do you think that using a term like 'that one' comes across as respectful (or even necessary) when you're dealing with potentially sensitive negotiations? Yeah, me either.

Yeah, that was just weird.

I'm hoping that he's just old & doesn't know any better... you know, like everyone's favorite (very un-pc) crusty old relative.

Then again, I wouldn't count on any of my relatives to have a broad enough view of things to be able to run the country the way I think it should be run.

Sigh... It's a big job, isn't it?
