Not thrilled with Vista
At the stroke of midnight, Windows Vista decided I no longer needed to use DHCP and set my connection to use a local IP address instead of the one supplied by my Comcast cable modem.

Comcast wasn't any help diagnosing the problem. It would have helped if the woman who answered would have let me get a word in edgewise so that I could tell her she was resetting my modem in Ferndale, not the one in Seattle that I am actually using.

Vista is a dog

I updated one of my PC's to vista because I just had to have DirectX 10 games and I've had nothing but trouble with it. It's telling me it's not a legal copy (it IS), it crashes, stuff doesn't work. Canon's not updating drivers for my scanner (1,5 yrs old) and my KVM-switch now doesn't give the correct resolution anymore.

Vista is a dog.

I heard that Vista is shit if you upgrade an older computer to it. I read a few places about people comlpaining that it ruined their computer. I don't know how much truth is in all that but, who knows.
I heard it works best when it is in a brand new computer.
My brand new laptop came with Vista and I was all set to hate it. However, I found that I don't mind it at all. I have zero issues with it. Then again, my laptop came with all the extras like a printer and all that.... so maybe I would have the frustration otherwise.
It also likes my internet connection real well. No idea.
