Bye bye crawdad
I think my crawdad died, since his eyes are glazed over white and he's not moving.

So I need to go get a new crawdad. Question is, when I get the new one, will he eat the old one?

He might. You'll get to witness the circle of life.

Did you get the crawdad from the store, or from a stream in the wild? Have you ever eaten a crawdad? They're pretty good.

The whole tank is a hand-me-down from a friend, including the crawdad. Probably store-purchased though. I'll be purchasing from a store for the replacement.

Yeah, they eat dead fish and all sorts of things. Just not sure if a new one will pick through the shell of the other one.

In which case I might as well pull it out and throw it out. I was trying to maximize my laziness.

the crawdad may not be dead. he may be shedding, or you may just be seeing his shed shell (he's fooled me many times with that trick- once they shed, their shells are not hardened, so they typically hide pretty damn good while they're "curing").

if he is dead, get a new crawdad right away- he will eat the old, dead one.
if you don't get a new crawdad right away, remove the body. the decomposing crawdad will turn the water toxic.
