This morning, I was juror number 54 out of 56 for another assault case. A lot of people would have to have been struck from the jury for me to be empaneled, so I didn't get my hopes up that I would get to serve on that jury. The lawyers conducting voir dire though weren't as aggressive as the ones yesterday. They weren't confrontational yesterday, but they asked more pointed questions about our personal experiences with assault. Today they asked only general questions, mostly about presumption of innocence and keeping an open mind and applying the law as they judge told us what it was and could we do that? The judge pushed through more quickly than the judge yesterday did as well, so we were done by lunch and as I expected I wasn't empaneled.
After lunch, I was put on another jury for voir dire. At this point I don't know what I am allowed to talk about so I won't. Only thing I know for certain I can mention is the name of the case, and I can't remember the defendant's name so I have nothing to say about the experience. Well, that and we did not finish the voir dire process today so I have to go back tomorrow to complete it.
