Allende, Isabel. The Infinite Plan translated by Margaret Sayers Reden. PQ8098.1.L54 P5713 1993. ISBN 0 06 017016 6. 382 pages.

Gregory Reeves is the son of an itinerant white "preacher" who is raised in Los Angeles' barrio among hispanic immigrants. The story of his life, college, Vietnam, marriage, etc. seems overbroad. Very sweeping, but without much point. Allende has a tendency to write run-on paragraphs; I found myself skimming them many times.
