Why I'm not particlarly in favor of putting caps on damages in medical malpractice cases. For one, insurance rates are up significantly because the stock market dropped. Second, as you can read in the linked article, anesthesiologists lowered their malpractice rates by lowering accident rates in their profession. Doctors in general haven't attempted this.
