Corporate media is lazy, not actually bothering to research stories. Mostly they quote from both sides and leave you to figure out which side is right. Bother to dig up the supporting facts and verify them? Bother to research what both sides leave out? Both to see if it's not really two sides, but three or four or five? These are things the corporate media doesn't do.
And sometimes, they don't even bother to get both sides of the story. Like this one: Bush, Clinton Disagree on Pope's Legacy. It offers one quote from Clinton that doesn't even support the headline. It's manufacturing controversy where none exists.
