-James FosterAny bozo can write a computer program, and apparently bozos frequently do.
It takes skill, good sense, and careful thought to design, implement, and test a computer application which is correct, efficient, and acceptable to the program's users.
James Foster was one of my professors in college. I found this on a page he had introducing a section of one the freshman CS classes he taught in 97. Foster generally taught upper level classes when I was attending. There were a group of professors who mainly taught upper level courses and for a couple of years they taught some freshman level classes and made them a lot more interesting. He was my favorite professor and the only one from whom I ever sought a recommendation.
