Slate.com has an article up right now on the V-chip. It was controversial at the time, but Clinton managed to push it through Congress. As it turns out, no one uses the feature, but it also had little cost for TV set manufacture either. With all the hullabaloo about Janet's naked tit on TV, we seem to have forgotten the V-chip. It wouldn't have prevented that from being shown. Still, why would anyone care about sex & violence on TV if they aren't using the tools they already have to block it. Do we need more draconian controls (such as Michael Powell is proposing)?
I have kids in the house who watch TV
Do you monitor the TV use by those children?
Do you use the V-chip to block programming (in addition to/instead of) montoring?
