Why the news is so frustrating

No one seems to employ any analysis to their news reporting, making it so I have to go freaking read everything myself. Excuse me? What's the point of having a news organization in the first place then?

Case in point:

C|Net reports DVD-copying code loses free speech shield.

While the Electronic Frontier Foundation trumpets that California Supreme Court Upholds Free Speech in DVD Case.

Now, the second one could be some spin. But dammit, I wish the news organizations (EFF is not a news org though) would employ some analysts to actually dig into the depths of these rulings so I don't have to dig in to every single one.

I don't plan to delete my LJ (I paid for permanent status, dammit), but this will be the last post. I don't plan to read it anymore, either…

  • Unemployed

Turns out my insurance is cut off at midnight tonight, not the end of the month. In a way, that's a good thing. Now I'll move my appointment…

  • Home from the cruise, off to Sunnyvale

A week off, but tomorrow I head to the home office for a week there.
