R.I.P. Larry's Market

They went into bankruptcy a few months ago and it looked like there was a buyer who would run it as a chain. However, they were outbid by various folks who wanted the locations but not the stores. Most stores will close within 30 to 90 days.

Now where will I shop? Is the new Whole Foods on Denny open yet?

Lotus and Mockingbird

So now that I have the disk space hold all my CDs, I've been ripping them all to my computer. I have a fair amount of self-released and independent CDs from local bands. One of them was a an a capella trio call Lotus that played in Moscow in the early 1990s. Sadly, they went their separate ways after making only one CD. I played this CD to death. I did a search for one of them though, Sherrie Lutsch. She's now playing western Washington as a member of another a capella trio, Mockingbird. So I'm listening to the samples of one of their albums on cdbaby, and it's very similar to a Lotus song, in that the lyrics for both come from Kahlil Gibran 's On Children. Deeper voices, but I don't like it as much. Not as rich.

What's with all the concern over Pluto?

It's like your dog was killed. Me, I'm in the anti-Pluto camp. Damn thing didn't belong. It was taking up all the glory from the real planets. He's the annoying Looney Toons dog, which way did he goe George? that bugged Neptune, running and around him. Sometimes closer, sometimes further. Damn that would get annoying fast. The rest of the planets, especially Jupiter, could've kicked his ass. I don't know why they didn't earlier.
