New Year's Resolutions

Last Year

Here are my resolutions from last year:

  1. Read 52 books this year. Mostly done. Didn't count, but it's gotta be in the 40s.
  2. Keep my pile of paper under control. Mostly done.
  3. Keep my apartment from looking like a wreck. Eh.
  4. Do something creative. I should actually read these resolutions. I might have done this then.
  5. Roller blade or bicycle more. Not very successful.
  6. Complete a personal programming project. Started, but petered out.
  7. Get a tan. Hah!

This year

This year's resolutions. I should point out that I don't make them to keep them. I make them to give myself a goal. It's all about knowing what direction to travel.

  1. Read 52 books this year.
  2. Ask women out on dates at least three times every month.
  3. Take a real vacation before August, instead of November/December.
  4. Macro-economics. Take a class or work through the book from my cancelled class.

Why I'm not in instant messengers

I used them pretty heavily for something like 8 or 9 years now. I will again. However, when playing games in full-screen mode, instant messengers just muck things up.

Since Thanksgiving, I've been playing World of Warcraft. So all of you that liked to send me instant messages and the such, you can count yourselves as World of Warcraft widows. I figure I've got about 2 months left though before I stop playing.
