Daydreams

Since I haven't written anything of substance for a while, I'll give my dear readers this.

There's a reason I love tales of the Apocalypse in science fiction. I'm not particularly fond of people. Oh, I love to socialize. If I go too long without human contact or a stimulating discussion I become grouchy. But by and large people irritate me. I hide it decently well. But not perfectly. I don't go to Sea Goth picnics. I generally stay away from parties. I don't go to lunch with my co-workers. I live alone.

I daydreamed as a child about an empty world. I don't think I'd do too well living in the forest and having to forage for food. But give me a city's worth of canned and dry goods and I might do all right for a while. In my dreams at least.

Even now, when I doze off on the bus, I'm thinking of what buildings I'd take over and how I'd set up the neighborhood to fight off whatevers left of society.
