Singles Night at the Library
Swansea Library Offers Singles Nights

I'd totally go to that. One of my criteria is that a person I date has to be a reader. I wouldn't have to go on three dates only to find out the only books she's read in the last decade start with Harry Potter and the.

I saw him do a version of that at the Moore theater a couple of years ago.

However, I had already run into the experience before seeing him. Had a girl over for dinner once who told me "Oh, I don't read." when I asked her what she was reading lately. Never had her over for dinner again.

Well, then it's likely what I saw.

Sloane and I always giggle about a date-? you had where she said, 'I don't read books'. "Nothing to see here people, the date is now over, just move along...".

ok. so I have to say, I did enjoy the Harry Potter books. They're really fun fantasy. Now they are by no means all that I read, I'm pretty well read and have a very esoteric and decent size collection of books so I'm generally reading more than one book at a time. But I am a little tired of people constantly critisizing someone for reading them. I know they're not complicated, they're fun, that's the point, but at least the person is reading, maybe they'll use them as a stepping stone to better and more complicated works of literature. Who knows, maybe they just don't know what to read and you can suggest some of your favorites and help them develop their own library.

I've read the whole series as well. Key word above is only. I love that kids read them. I think it's great that adults read them. But there's not a lot of depth to them. For kids, that's fine. They are just developing their reading taste. Thing is, there's a group of adults out there that haven't read anything since college. Except Harry Potter. To me, that's a sign that the person has turned their brain off since college.

Also, I don't want to be in the role of reading teacher to someone I'm dating. I'd rather they come in with a mostly developed sense of what they like to read.

Set up a singles night at the library in Bellingham? (Is there an East Lake branch library here?)
