	A Reading Meme
	How many books do you own? Somewhere around 1150. It might be a lot more. I last counted earlier this summer, and I'm not sure how many binges I've gone on since then. Last book you bought? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Costco impulse purchase. Last book someone bought you? Despite how much I read, people only rarely give me books. The last gift was from Eva. I mentioned I wanted to read some Ian McEwan and she gave me a bunch of beat up Ian McEwan books (along with an Edward Abbey and an Isaac Bashevis Singer) that were molding on the floor of her car. The last book purchased for me I think was from faerieburst who replaced a copy of a book that'd gone missing. Last book read? The Year's Best Science Fiction: Sixth Annual Collection Five books that mean a lot to me: King Rat, James Clavell The Sweet Hereafter, Russell Banks Santiago, Mike Resnick The Sparrow, Mary Doria Russell Alcoholics Anonymous

Of those 5, based on what you know of my literary interests, which would you recommend that I read?

I'd lean toward The Sparrow followed by The Sweet Hereafter. Mind you, both of these books are very unsettling.

Heh. You don't know what a can of worms you just opened, but the short version is: do whatever you want.

The long version: I post things in my journal that I find interesting. I never post memes because I have been tagged. The flip side is I never tag anyone else, and I don't push for memes to be spread. Post in your journal what you find interesting. If this seems like something interesting to you, do so. Or feel free to respond here. I love comments. I'm a whore for attention. Or both! (Hmmm, that was shorter than I thought it would be. I could write several pages on my meta-meme thoughts.)

Last thing I'd want is to stuff a comments page with memes answers, but since it's ok I'll do so!
(I'll probably do the same in my LJ, just after translating it into Italian, since some of my Lj-friends cannnot speak / read English)

How many books do you own?
I guess 300 – 350, including books I use for my job, and books I studied at university. Surprisingly – or not at all – a great, great number of them is in English or translated into Italian.
Last book you bought?
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, and finished reading last summer, it was about time!

L’ombra del vento (La sombra del viento), by Carlos Ruiz Zafòn. A present by

gionni for my birthday.
Last book read?
- A paperback Shakespeare’s Sonnets collection. But I swear it was for job purposes :D
- Gomorra, Roberto Saviano. Frightening trip into Southern Italy camorra. Still reading.

I've read Amsterdam. I don't remember it though.

I now own that book as well as The Innocent, Back Dogs, and Atonement.

My pile of books to be read is currently around 300, so I don't know how long it'll be before I get to them.
